Friday was my wonderful husband's birthday. Unfortunately he had to work.
Our daughter was indignant. "Doesn't his boss know that it's his birthday?" she kept asking. "No one should have to work on their birthday!"
But after he was home from work we had a nice time celebrating. The children sent him on a scavenger hunt to find an enormous bag of peanut butter pretzels and a new pear tree. Then we had a scrumptious dinner of Chinese food and topped it of with his favorite strawberry custard birthday cake.
The next morning his parents had us over for my hubby's favorite; Scandinavian Breakfast with all the trimmings. It was a tasty treat for us all before we headed off to the YMCA for some fun in the pool with the kiddos.
We opted to get the pear tree without the partridge.
