Harrison's Pumpkin Party

Our Baby Bear had his 4th birthday party last weekend. We had perfect weather to celebrate near our front yard pumpkin patch. We found him eating candy corn under the food table before the festivities began.

"I'm diss many now!"The crowd seemed to like the puppet show we put on for them. The pumpkin seed spitting contest and pumpkin bowling were fun to watch.

The children decorated pumpkins with markers and stickers.

Harrison loved his new super hero costume.

This must have been what Karsten was doing during the cake photo. He spent a lot of time playing in the coiled up hose.

Mikey crashed on the lawn toward the end of the party. Maybe he had just a little too much pumpkin fun.

My Little Punkins

There is a farmstand near our house where I love taking my children. I feel like we are on a field trip each time we visit. This weekend I stopped by with the kiddos to pick out some pumpkins for Harrison's pumpkin party.

Peek-A-Boo!

I am glad Kennedy could appreciate the beauty in these warty looking ones.Mikey liked grabbing the pumpkins from the stack and throwing them back.
Thanks, Jack, for holdin' up the stack.

Kennedy has begun to enjoy taking photos. The last two are courtesy of her.

Seven and a Half

Today is Kennedy's half birthday. She made her own chocolate bundt cake by reading the directions and following them perfectly. I merely supervised. How does the little girl who once made Easy Bake cookies with her mom grow up to be 7 1/2 and baking big cakes on her own? She also looked up the glaze recipe on the computer and made it herself.

The boys were very glad for a reason to eat chocolate cake!

I love homeschooling. Today as part of Jack's work, he got to make his initials out of floam.

More Ketchup, Please

Oh, how we love to celebrate life! Cousin Willem Dando turned one. We were thankful to be there to witness his first cupcake. We did the Puyallyp with a gallop this year. We arrived early and left in time for Mikey's nap.
We did stay long enough to see the giant pumpkins and buy some seeds to grow our own next year. The children always love milking Mabel in her stable.

For a special treat, we made caramel apples. What a sweet way to begin the new school year.

Plain Ketchup

I am playing catch-up on my blog. I haven't written in a super long time. I am working on a 6 week Civil War unit for our home school co-op. It has taken over any of my extra blogging time. So here goes...

Kennedy lost her second tooth. Her first one was pulled out by the dentist two years ago, so this is the first one to actually fall out on its own accord.
Last weekend my gram and I did the Iron Girl 5k at Green Lake. I ran it four minutes slower than last year and she improved her time by several minutes!
My spunky gram won a prize for her age group. We can't remember if she was first or second. At 77 years old, she was actually the oldest lady registered in the race that day.

My gram is so great. I hope that when I am her age I am still competing in races.

Harrison was so excited to visit the dentist for the first time.
This is a little too reminiscent of the marshmallow incident in July.

We had a little cupcake celebration with my dad for his 57th birthday.
