How We Beat the Heat

The hottest day recorded in Seattle's history was set last week; 103 degrees! And it was in the 90's for several days after that. Most of the folks out here were melting. Since Ken had the time off, we decided to head out to the ocean to get some relief from the heat. It was in the low 70's out there. Cool and refreshing.

Ken showed the kids how to skim board.

McKinley's first vacation

The kids loved swimming in the hotel pool.

We met up with Uncle Dan, Aunt Heidi, and cousins Ava and Anders on our last day at the ocean. They were trying to get away from the heat as well. We hung out with them at their camp site and the beach before heading back to the Seattle heat.

What a great time to go to the coast! A beautiful pic of Mommy and tiny baby ... and, Kennedy, you look so delighted to be entrusted with holding your sister!
A big thanks to you, Jen, for saying "no" to a nap or a meal or whatever to take time to share these photos with us!
Love,
Grammy
